The Diverso team is already busy planning the next edition of the Martinique Gourmande Festival’s Creole Market, which will be back for its 15e edition at the Grand Quai du Vieux Port on September 16 and 17, 2023, an event that attracts thousands of visitors.

The main elements of the mandate were carried out in collaboration with the Comité Martiniquais en 2022, with whom it was a pleasure to work:

-Development and proposal of a thematic concept, signage on the site. With over 8,000 visitors over 2 days, this is a crucial element in ensuring that this gourmet experience remains enjoyable for everyone.

-Coordination and logistics: necessary authorizations and accreditations, management of audiovisual equipment and suppliers.

-Food research, planning and purchasing for the 5 chefs, for a total of 1,300 dishes served at the 2022 edition. A real food marathon! Laurie’s past experience as a catering chef was an invaluable asset!

-Management of themed areas, including a section for toddler chefs.

-Budget management.

Festival history

Created in 2006, Martinique Gourmande is Montreal’s very first culinary festival. The initial concept involved some sixty bars and restaurants in the Greater Montreal and Quebec City areas offering a ten-day menu of Martinique flavours.

In 2023, the Festival hopes to innovate by creating a section focused on cooperation between chefs, teachers and students from Martinique and Quebec, in order to strengthen academic, economic and tourism links between the two territories and cultures.

The event already includes a solidarity component, with thousands of Martiniquan meals distributed to Quebec food banks by the Cuisines Solidaires de la Tablée des Chefs, as well as a charity component, with funds raised from the sale of chefs’ meals donated to associations in Martinique, as well as to the ITHQ in Montreal.. This initiative has enabled Martinique Gourmande to be shortlisted for the Lauriers de la Gastronomie Québécoise in 2021, in the “Event of the Year” category.
